Created to be his Help Meet

Today is Sunday and I decided to stay home from church today. I was so tired this morning that my bed won me over! (it didn't take much convincing) I am reading a book right now called 'Created to be his Help Meet'. I'm on the second chapter and it is really a challenging book to read. It's about being a helper to your husband and the biblical views of how a wife should be. Talk about a shock...I mean I was going along in my life thinking that I was a pretty good wife and that my husband just didn't appreciate everything that I did! Oh my how shallow my mind is! Ladies...let me tell you if you are married or are thinking about getting married you should pick up this book! It is a wake up call but in a good way. At times it's hard to hear some things but when they soak in and I can take some time to absorb them it's like a light turns on. Yesterday when I was reading I had a highlighter out and I was going to highlight things that stuck out to me but I think the whole book would be highlighted! :) So I think my church today is going to be tackling a couple more chapters of the book. So here's to a relaxing day! Tomorrow we are at Mom's to celebrate our Christmas. Just what the kids need...more toys!

Cute Words!

Yesterday we were getting some breakfast ready for Allyah and she said "can you make me a cheese grill?" Now I know that is probably only cute to her mommy but I thought that was so cute that I had to blog about it! Sometimes she amazes me with the things she comes up with and I have to wonder what all goes on in that little head of hers! Sometimes I just stop and look at her and it just washes over me again how grateful I am that God has blessed me with such an amazing little girl! She has changed my life and I look forward to going through each phase of her life with her good and bad! I pray that God molds her into a beautiful person inside and out. She will always be beautiful to me! Just recently my cousin and his wife lost their little baby (she was 7 1/2 months along) and then I also read of another family that lost their 3 day old baby. I have been somewhat emotional since and it has just given me a new appreciation for all the messes and the chaos that comes with a 3 year old! I truly am blessed!

Christmas 2008

We got Bianka a My Twinn doll that was made to look just like her! It was really neat!

I decided that I should start a blog now that I know that I will be able to keep up with it. My most wonderful husband got me a laptop for Christmas! I was totally surprised! But, not only did he get me a laptop but he also surpised with an awesome new desktop! I about fell over! When he does something he definitely does it BIG! Our old computer was not a fun thing to be on the internet with! I would spend half the time waiting on it to load or do anything so I'm totally excited about having something that works! :)
So today is Christmas and for the first time I think in 26 years I have stayed home the entire day! It was just Pat, the girls' and I! It was a really nice change. The girls woke us up this morning around 6am and we went downstairs and they opened their gifts. After that they just played with their gifts and Pat made us a yummy breakfast of pancakes, bacon, and eggs! Then the girls played some more and then I made ham, mashed potatoes, and corn. So, it was alot of playing and eating and family fun! While I set up both computers, Pat played with the girls and helped them set up their toys and put them away. I felt extremely blessed today to have a husband who helps me like he does! His girls' are the joy of his life and he does anything and everything for them! I love him! If you know Pat he doesn't like to be around alot of people so today was a great day for him as well! I enjoyed it so much that I hope more years turn out to be like today! I just thank God for blessing me like he does!
